We bought a new fridge a few years ago and it had ice maker/ water. We bought it because it was on sale and it was the biggest we could get. I was searching online for a pump we could use to feed water from 5 gallon jug to our fridge, because we live out in the country and have cistern for water supply. This pump had come up more than once. Amazon had the best price! We have been using it for several months, fortunately we have a cupboard right beside our fridge that we ran the tubes from and keep the jug hidden in. We never have issues with noise and Even if it were to be a little noisy it's worth it to have filtered water to our fridge! It's a great buyI live in a lake community with only well water, we do not use our tap water to make ice. I installed this with 5 gallon bottles to make ice, next to a cabinet, to the fridge. It works great. The noise level is minimal and we get fresh clean ice. One time, when the bottle ran dry, it started making a noise and stopped working. We loved it so much, we purchased another unit, thinking that over time, it just ran its course and failed. Upon installing the new one, the same thing happened, it was making a noise and not pumping the water. After re-reading the instructions, apparently, there was an air bubble in the tube. I had to remove the tube from the pump that ran from the fridge and run it, the air bubble cleared and it started working fine. Please try this before you order a new one! We now have an extra one, just in case it ever fails. We are very pleased with this product.Works great, easy to install, everything needed in box, including long line to fridge (or faucet)EAsy to install. best solution for bottle waters. NO MORE USB battery CHARGED DEVICESEasy to install. No learning curve in using it. I did not want to crawl under the house to run a water line from the one side of the kitchen to the other and drill up through the floor to the rear of the refrigerator. Instead I put the unit on the wall with the bottle beside it. I ran the 1/4” supply line through the upper back of the cabinets to the rear of the refrigerator. The only fitting you need to assemble is one nut and a sleeve. Everything just plugs in to the pump. Just place the long tube in the 5 gallon bottle and turn on the pump. But, before connecting 1/4” line to the refrigerator put the end in a pail and turn on the pump for several seconds to clear out the lines. Nice thing is when your bottle is down to the last pint it turns off. Just pull out the tube and place it in another bottle and it will turn on automatically in a few minutes. When the pump turns on to fill the ice tray it’s on for maybe 3.5 seconds then shut off. Good thing is you get purified ice and if you ice maker line breaks you only get the water that’s in the bottle on the floor and not running for hours while you are away like you would if you were hooked to city water.Got this to replace another pump that was dead on arrival, so I was bracing for a challenging install. I shouldn't have worried. Within five minutes of opening the box the pump was installed and working like a charm! Flojet, you won a customer for lifeWe have a second fridge in the garage mostly for stocking beverages and frozen food. There is no water hook up in the garage to use the ice maker and water spout that the fridge came with, but we are regularly get the 5 gal Poland Spring water bottles delivered to our house. This Flojet pump allows you to use the 5 gal bottles to feed the ice maker and water chiller in our fridge. It is easy to hook up and comes with everything you need. The pump only powers up on demand, i.e. if you use ice cubes and fridge is starting to make more ice. Since it is in the garage, I don't really care about the sound, but I also don't find it overly loud - however, as short as it runs, you definitely will hear the pump working. The other nice thing about this setup is that the ice cubes are made out of spring water, so you don't mind at all having them in your drinks. I filter the tap water that feeds our fridge in the kitchen, but would love to use spring water there, too. Changing water bottles is also easy with the provided tube and bottle cap, that you stick into the 5 gal bottles. The on-demand pump and all the accessories seem to be well made and of higher quality than competing products, however I find the price a little high, which is why I knocked off a star. This system should cost in the $60 to $75 range and not the $120 I paid for it. However, I expect this to work for many years without any maintenance, and the cheaper competing products seem to have issues with reliability.I plumbed this into my water cooler to pump water to the fridge for better ice & water. Still working great almost 2 years later. Super happy. Out tap waters isn’t very good & the ice pretty much ruined drinks. As described on time and good product.Buen producto y también fácil de instalar recomiendo poner un regulador de corriente para mayor protección del equipo ante variaciones dé luz trabaja muy bien con mi refrigerador el cual jala agua del garrafón para realizar los hielosVery happy with it. Received it promptly all the way in Ghana and works very well so far. Installation was easy.
